Herodion

Strengthening of the Corridor of Arches

  • Client: Israeli Institute of Archeology

Reinforcement works at the entrance to Herod’s palace in the Judean Desert, including drilling 12-14m through the centre of each of the two walls, the threading through of steel rods, and the attachment of steel plates at each end. The drilled-out space was grouted along its entire length with a special non-leak grout, preventing damage to the archeological findings.
